Troubleshooting Hosted Websites

First: check the PHP error log

Most blank pages and "500" errors leave a message in logs/php<version>.error.log (for example logs/php8.3.error.log). Open it with the File Manager and look at the last lines.

Common problems

You seeLikely cause and fix
"Under construction" pageNothing uploaded yet, or files are in the wrong folder. Upload into domains/<domain>/public_html.
Old version of the siteCDN or browser cache. Clear the CDN Cache for Your Sites, then try a private window.
500 Internal Server Error / blank pageA PHP error. Read the error log. Common causes: a plugin not compatible with your PHP version (Change the PHP Version), or wrong database details.
"Error establishing a database connection"Host must be localhost. Check the database name, user and password in the Databases tab; the database user has the same name as the database.
403 ForbiddenA blocked file type or folder. See Files and Paths Blocked for Security.
404 on every page except the home pageYour app expects pretty URLs. WordPress and most frameworks work automatically; if you use a custom rewrite, contact support.
413 Request Entity Too LargeUpload bigger than 128 MB. Upload large files with SFTP.
429 Too Many Requests on wp-loginLogin rate limit. Wait a minute.
Page stops loading after 2 minutesPHP time limit (120 seconds). Run long jobs as a cron job instead.
Redirect loopSet the app's site URL to https://, and check a redirect isn't pointing at itself.
Site down, panel says suspendedSee Suspended or Deleted Hosting Accounts.
Not reachable after switching nameserversPropagation can take a few hours. Click I've switched my nameservers — check now in the panel. See HTTPS and SSL Certificates for Hosted Sites.
Can't connect with SFTPSFTP Connection Problems and Unblock My IP

Open a support ticket with the domain, the page address, the time it happened and the last lines of the error log.
