Change the PHP Version
Available versions: PHP 8.4, 8.3 and 8.2. New accounts start on 8.3, which suits most WordPress sites and plugins.
For every domain at once
- Open your hosting account.
- On the overview, use the PHP version tile's dropdown.
The change applies to all domains on the account within a few seconds.
For one domain
- Open Domains.
- Change the PHP dropdown on that domain's row.
Changing the primary domain's version also changes the account default.
Before you switch
- Check that your app and its plugins support the new version. Older WordPress plugins are the usual problem when moving up.
- If the site breaks after a change, switch back; your files aren't touched. Then look at
logs/php<version>.error.logfor the reason. - Cron jobs call PHP by version, for example
/usr/bin/php8.3. Update them if you change versions; see Schedule Cron Jobs.
Limits and settings that apply to every version: PHP Limits and Settings.
