Order a Hosting Account
A hosting account always belongs to one of your CDNShark domains. Add the domain first (Domains in the portal), then create the hosting account for it.
Steps
- In the portal, open Hosting and click New Hosting Account.
- Domain: pick one of your CDN domains. A domain shows (already hosted) if it has a hosting account, or (DNS still being set up) if it was added a moment ago; wait a few minutes and reload.
- Plan: choose a plan. The disk space is shown next to each one.
- Username: 3–32 lowercase letters and digits, starting with a letter. This is your SFTP login and the name of your home folder, and it cannot be changed later.
- Click Create Hosting Account.
Payment
- Your first invoice is prorated to your domain's CDN renewal date, so hosting and the domain renew together afterwards.
- If you have enough account credit, the invoice is paid automatically and setup starts straight away. Otherwise pay the invoice; the account shows pending with a Pay invoice button until you do.
- Renewals keep the price you signed up at.
After payment
The account moves from provisioning to active, usually within a minute or two. When it is active:
- your SFTP password is generated (see Connect with SFTP);
- the domain shows an "Under construction" page until you upload your site;
- the domain's DNS records are pointed at your hosting through the CDN, and HTTPS is set up automatically.
Every new account starts on PHP 8.3. You can change it any time: Change the PHP Version.
Moving an existing site? You don't have to switch nameservers first. See Move an Existing Website to CDNShark Hosting.
