Getting started with CDNShark Backup

1. Install the app

Download it for macOS, Windows or Linux from the CDNShark Backup page, or from Backup & Sync in your control panel. Windows users can also install it from the Microsoft Store.

2. Sign in

Use the same email and password as the CDNShark control panel. Your backup repository is created automatically the first time you sign in — there is nothing to configure.

3. Choose what to protect

Add the folders that matter: documents, projects, anything you could not recreate. Avoid adding whole system drives, virtual-machine images or application caches — they are large, change constantly, and are rarely worth restoring.

4. Set a schedule

Pick how often snapshots run. Frequent snapshots of a folder that changes little cost very little, because only what changed is uploaded.

5. Check it is running

The Snapshots view lists each protected folder with its size and when it last ran. If it says a folder has never run, the schedule has not fired yet or the app has not been left running long enough.

You need an active CDN plan to sign in; all plans include backup storage.
