Disable Email for a Domain
Disabling email deletes every mailbox and alias on the domain, including all stored messages. This can't be undone. Copy anything you want to keep to your computer first (in your mail app, drag folders to a local folder).
Steps
- Open Email and pick the domain.
- Click Disable, type DISABLE to confirm, and click Disable Email.
What happens
- All mailboxes and aliases are deleted, with their mail.
- For a domain on CDNShark DNS, the mail DNS records are removed. Check your domain's TXT records in DNS Management afterwards and add back any non-email ones you still need (for example a site-verification record).
- For a domain with DNS elsewhere, remove the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records at your provider yourself, or point the MX at your new email provider.
- Your seats aren't cancelled by this. They stay available for another domain on the same plan. To stop paying for them, contact support.
Removing an unverified domain
A domain that never passed verification shows Remove instead of Disable. Nothing was created for it yet, so removing it is harmless.
