Set Up Email in Outlook, Thunderbird and Apple Mail
You'll need your full email address, its password, and the server name from the Mail app setup tab (usually mail.cdnshark.com). Settings in short: IMAP 993 SSL/TLS; SMTP 465 SSL/TLS or 587 STARTTLS; username = full email address. Details: Mail App Settings (IMAP and SMTP).
Thunderbird
- Account Settings → Account Actions → Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, email address and password, then click Configure manually.
- Incoming: IMAP, the server name, port
993, SSL/TLS, normal password, username = full email address. - Outgoing: SMTP, the server name, port
465SSL/TLS (or587STARTTLS), normal password, same username. - Click Re-test, then Done.
Outlook (Windows and Mac)
- File → Add Account (Windows) or Settings → Accounts → + (Mac). Enter your email address.
- Choose Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually, then IMAP.
- Incoming: server name, port
993, encryption SSL/TLS. - Outgoing: server name, port
465with SSL/TLS (or587with STARTTLS). - Enter your password when asked and finish.
In the newest Outlook for Windows, pick IMAP under "Add account" and use the same values.
Apple Mail (Mac)
- Mail → Add Account → Other Mail Account.
- Enter your name, email address and password and click Sign In.
- When asked, choose IMAP, set both Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server to the server name, and the user name to your full email address.
- Click Sign In. Apple Mail picks the secure ports itself.
