Aliases and Forwarding
An alias is an extra address that delivers into other mailboxes. Use it for sales@, support@ or postmaster@ without paying for another mailbox: aliases don't use seats.
Create an alias
- Open Email, pick the domain, and open Aliases & Forwarders.
- Click Add Alias.
- From: the address before the
@, for examplesales. - Forward to: one or more full addresses, separated by commas. They can be mailboxes on your domain or addresses elsewhere, like
jane@your-company.com, owner@gmail.com. - Click Create Alias.
Good to know
- Double-check the Forward to addresses: a typo isn't caught, and mail to it is simply lost.
- Don't use the same name as an existing mailbox.
- To change an alias, delete it and create it again.
- There's no catch-all (an address that receives mail for every unknown name). Create aliases for the addresses you use.
- If the panel says "Saved, but the node rejected it", delete the alias and try again, or contact support.
- Forwarding to outside providers (Gmail, Outlook.com) works, but they may treat forwarded spam strictly. Forwarding into a mailbox on your domain is the most reliable.
