Disk Quota and Usage

Your plan sets how much disk space the account can use. The Disk quota card on the overview shows used / total.

The Usage tab

  • Disk usage: space used and the percentage of your quota. The bar turns red above 85%.
  • Databases: how much of that space your databases take.
  • Disk trend: how usage changed over the last 48 hours.

Figures update about once an hour. Website traffic statistics are under Analytics.

What counts

Everything in your account: website files, databases, logs, Git repositories, and a prepared backup download in backups/. Your nightly backups are stored elsewhere and don't count.

There's also a limit on the number of files (400 per MB of quota), so millions of tiny cache files can fill an account before its space does.

When the quota is full

  • Uploads and saves fail ("Cannot write file (check permissions / quota)").
  • Your site may show errors when it tries to write, for example during updates, image uploads or session saves.

Freeing space

  • Delete old prepared backup downloads in backups/.
  • Empty big log files in logs/.
  • Clear your app's cache folder (for WordPress, the caching plugin's cache directory).
  • Remove old copies of the site (public_html_old, .zip files) you no longer need.
