Install WordPress in One Click
Steps
- Open your hosting account → Apps → Install App.
- App: WordPress.
- Domain: where the site goes.
- Install location: Domain root (
example.com) or Subfolder (example.com/blog). - Site title, Admin username and Admin email.
- Click Install.
Within a minute or two the app shows active. The Apps table then has:
- a link to your site's wp-admin;
- the admin username and a generated password (eye icon to show, copy icon to copy). Change it after your first login under Users → Profile.
A database is created for WordPress automatically. It appears in the Databases tab and counts towards your plan's database limit.
The install folder must be empty
The installer won't overwrite an existing site. A brand-new domain only has the "Under construction" page, which is fine. If the folder has other files, move them out first or install into a subfolder.
Uninstalling
Click the trash icon on the app's row. This deletes the WordPress files and its database:
- for a subfolder install, the subfolder is removed;
- for a root install, everything in
public_htmlis removed and the "Under construction" page comes back.
Download a backup first if you might need the content.
